Kim M. “Kaliko” Ching, 29, of Ewa Beach, a co-owner of C.K. Springs and an employee of Hawaii Medical Service Association, died Thursday July 31, 1997 in Queen’s Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she is survived by husband Christopher K.; father Mitchell Araki; mother Rene “Amy” Provines; stepmother Claire Araki and stepfather James Provines; sister Tammie E. Carrie Takenaka

Carrie Lynn Takenaka, age 28 of Honolulu, died Jan. 21, 1996. She was born in Honolulu and was a Health Educator with the State Department of Health and the Life Foundation. She was a graduate of Kamehameha Schools, the University of Washington and received a Masters Degree from the University of Hawaii. She is survived by mother Claire M. Yamashiro; her father Paul L. Takenaka; Claire’s husband Clifford; Paul’s wife Hiromi; grandmothers Vesta M. Takenaka and Eva Mung Lim. She will always be remembered by those who loved her as having a big heart, boundless energy, and a willingness never to quit. Burial: Hawaiian Memorial Park. [SB 29/01/1996]
