A big mahalo to everyone that attended our 20th reunion weekend in Las Vegas! We had such a phenomenal turnout, much larger that we anticipated when the committee began planning this event last year (thank goodness the Cal still had the larger Ohana Room available for us). As mentioned previously, the staff at both the California and Main Street Stations (they do lots of reunions) commented to us that they were impressed with our turnout. Large turnouts like ours are usually seen by older classes or instances where a couple of classes combine their reunions. In fact, we almost couldn’t hold our pupu party at the 777 Brewpub because that venue does not usually host functions exceeding 50 people. When we booked 777 Brewpub earlier this year, we thought, “ah maybe 50 people…75 absolute MAX.” When we updated the numbers, the manager kinda freaked, but relented, in part, because he was impressed that such a young class from a school as far away as Hawai‘i, could attract that large a crowd. We were a little squeezed in that night, but it kinda made for a more intimate gathering. So good on us for setting the benchmark for younger classes holding reunions in Las Vegas. So, who signed up?
